Northeast Ohio Law Directors Association Meeting and CLE Seminar

The monthly meeting of the Northeast Ohio Law Directors Association will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at 11:45 a.m., at the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, The Galleria at Erieview, 1301 East 9th Street, Second Level,Cleveland, Ohio.
This meeting will be the monthly meeting plus a 1.0 hour CLE seminar. TheAssociation has received approval from the Ohio Supreme Court Commission on Continuing Legal Education for 1.00 total general CLE credit hour for this seminar.The topic is “HIPAA and Affordable Care Act Updates for Municipal Attorneys,”and the speaker for this seminar will be J. Ryan Williams. This presentation will provide an overview of areas of municipal functions where the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) comes into play (public records requests, information within municipal government asto its employees’ health conditions, responding to subpoenas, etc.) and an update ofsignificant events and recurring issues related to the Affordable Care Act (“ACA”, aka“Obamacare”) since our February seminar. These topics are at the requests of our members. Please invite your mayor, city manager, and HR personnel to this informative presentation with practical application.
The lunch price for everyone is $15.00. Nonmember attendees will be charged$20.00, which also includes lunch and the seminar. All amounts are payable at the door. Checks can be made out to the “Northeast Ohio Law Directors Association”.
