Marc B. Merklin, 54, developed a clear vision for his future career when he was just a teenager.
“I had wanted to be a lawyer since high school. I wanted a profession in which I could use the tools I had learned,” said Merklin, managing partner at the law firm Brouse McDowell in Akron and Cleveland.
After receiving a bachelor’s degree in American studies from Case Western Reserve University, Merklin earned a law degree from CWRU’s School of Law in 1984. That summer, he worked with the law firm Brouse McDowell. After landing an interview, he began his career at the firm in August. 1984.
