Attorney at Law Magazine Interviews Partners Dan Glessner and Terry Vincent on Their Careers in the Military and in the Law

November 11, 2018

Attorney at Law Magazine Cleveland publisher Jim Shultz interviewed health care partner Daniel Glessner and tax partner Terry Vincent on their time in the military and in the law for the 2018 Veterans in Law Special Issue.

Dan Glessner discusses how he began his military career with a plethora of interesting jobs in the Army, including as a field artillery officer, a detachment executive officer for the 319th QM Detachment in Iraq from June 2005 through October 2006, and an instructor of Command General and Staff College for his final ten years in the military, among others. He transitioned to the legal profession after inspiration from his senior year government class and a mock trial. Dan’s military and law school experience has taught him sacrifice and perseverance. Dan discusses the team culture at Brouse McDowell and his experience as in-house counsel at Akron General Medical Center. To read the full interview, please visit On Sacrifice & Perseverance.

Terry Vincent served in the U.S. Air Force and reached the rank of Sergeant (E-4). His military career was inspired by his father who had proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. His interest in law peaked during his senior year of college from meeting with the Dean of the Law School who had served in the U.S. Air Force and in the Reserves. Terry learned from both his military and law experience that there is no substitute for working as part of a team. He describes the culture at Brouse McDowell as cooperative and team-oriented and explains the firm’s openness to expression of new views and ideas.
