Shawn M. Lyden Shawn has represented health systems, physician groups and ambulatory care providers in a wide variety of corporate and regulatory matters. He has particular experience in mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and compliance matters and regularly advises clients on complex health care regulatory issues, including fraud and abuse, physician “self-referral,” and various state law issues. Shawn is currently Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Akron Children’s Hospital. Prior to joining Brouse McDowell in 1994, he practiced health care law as a partner in a large national Chicago-based law firm.
Professional/Civic Activities Shawn is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association; Health Care Compliance Association; Society of Ohio Healthcare Attorneys and Healthcare Executives Association of Northeast Ohio.
He also serves on the Boards of Directors of LifeBanc, the organ procurement agency for Northeast Ohio, and the Centers for Dialysis Care, a non-profit provider of outpatient kidney dialysis and related services in Northeast Ohio.
Shawn is a member of the Akron, Ohio State and American Bar Associations.

- Representation of hospital clients in medical staff matters, including revision of medical staff bylaws, development of policies and procedures and resolution of medical staff disputes.
