Paul A. Rose
Paul Rose has 27 years experience as a business litigator and has tried a wide range of business cases, including cases concerning insurance coverage, securities claims, trade secret matters, fraud and a variety of business disputes. He has practiced in trial and appellate courts throughout Ohio and in the Ohio Supreme Court, as well as the courts of various other states. He also has appeared in various federal courts, including the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. He is a past chair of the firm’s Environmental Practice Group and is the current chair of the firm’s Insurance Recovery Group. 

Paul has received an AV Rating by Martindale-Hubbell. He also has been named as an Ohio Super Lawyer for the years 2004 through 2010, with particular recognition for his practice in insurance coverage and business litigation, through a peer review conducted by Law and Politics and Cincinnati Magazine. He also was elected to serve as President of the Scanlon Inn of Court, which is the Akron Chapter of the National Inns of Court, for the 2010-2012 term.


Professional/Civic Activities
Paul has served on various community boards, including the boards of Tarry House and the Greater Akron Musical Association (Akron Symphony Orchestra). He is currently a member of the Blossom Music Center Board of Overseers and the Greater Akron Musical Association Advisory Board of Trustees. Paul is a member of the Akron, Ohio State and American Bar Associations, and he is a member of the Insurance Coverage Committee of the American Bar Association’s Litigation Section. He also is an Editor of the Insurance Coverage Law Bulletin, a national publication of Law Journal Newsletters.

Representative Engagements
Paul has been counsel for policyholders in many of the leading insurance coverage cases in Ohio and in other states, including GenCorp v. Aetna Casualty & Surety Company, Uniroyal Goodrich v. Home Insurance Company, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company v. Aetna Casualty & Surety Company, and The B.F. Goodrich Company v. Commercial Union Insurance Company.  He also has appeared on behalf of policyholder amicus curiae parties in many cases, including the Ohio Supreme Court cases of Hybud Equipment Corporation v. Sphere Drake Insurance Company and Ormet Primary Aluminum Corporation v. Employers Insurance of Wausau.


Paul also has served as an expert witness on Ohio insurance coverage law, testifying in the High Court of Justice in London, England.
