Joy D. Kosiewicz
Joy practices in the areas of health care and real estate law. In her health care practice, she represents health systems, physician groups and health plans in a variety of regulatory, real estate and corporate matters. Joy has particular experience with privacy issues and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. In her real estate practice, Joy has been involved in a variety of commercial and residential real estate transactions, including acquisitions, sales and leasing. She advises clients on various real property matters, including zoning, title and access issues. Joy also works with charitable institutions to assist them in obtaining and maintaining their real property tax exempt status.

Professional/Civic Activities
Joy serves on the board of trustees of the Summit County Community Partnership and is a member of the Bath Township Zoning Commission. She is a member of the Akron, Ohio State and American Bar Associations.

Representative Engagements

• Counsel providers and health plans in state and federal privacy matters, including development of policies and procedures.
• Represent clients in corporate, real estate and regulatory matters, including drafting and negotiating services and employment contracts, leases and purchase agreements and advice on consent, confidentiality, fraud and abuse and other similar issues.
• Guide hospital clients in Institutional Review Board matters.
• Represent providers in corporate compliance matters, including the development and implementation of compliance programs and training.
