Richard H. Harris, III
Richard is a principal member of the Estate Planning and Probate Practice Group. He has significant experience counseling clients in the areas of business succession planning, trust and estate administration, estate planning and charitable gift planning. Richard’s practice includes Medicaid planning for the elderly and estate planning for individuals with disabilities. He has represented numerous fiduciaries in the probate administration of estates with respect to the administration of trusts. He is an experienced preparer of estate and gift tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns. Richard has also been involved in probate litigation matters involving the construction of wills and/or trust documents, contested guardianships, and will contest actions.

Professional/Civic Activities
Richard is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of the Ohio State Bar Association Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Section Council. He formerly served as President of the Akron Bar Association Probate Section Committee and the Akron Tax and Estate Planning Council. Richard was awarded the distinction as an Ohio Super Lawyer 2007 and was selected for inclusion in the 2007 and 2008 editions of The Best Lawyers in America.

Richard is a board member and officer for the Greater Akron Musical Association (Akron Symphony) and serves as Trust Advisor for the Mary and Dr. George L. Demetros Charitable Trust. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for Albrecht, Incorporated and a former officer and board member of Planned Parenthood of Summit County.
