NiCole Swearingen-Hilker NiCole focuses her practice on various types of estate, succession and probate issues, including the preparation of comprehensive estate planning documents, probate administration and a variety of estate administration and tax issues. Professional/Civic Activities NiCole was recognized in 2011 as a '30 for the Future' Young Professional by the Greater Akron Chamber and has also received the Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under for the Ohio State Bar Association District 11. She is a Fellow of the Ohio State Bar Foundation and the Akron Bar Association Foundation. Selected along with 23 fellow attorneys from across the state of Ohio, NiCole participated in the 2010 inaugural class of the Ohio State Bar Association's Leadership Academy. The academy is designed to identify future leaders in the legal community and provide them with support and training. NiCole is also a member of the Executive Committee of The University of Akron Honors Alumni Council.
She serves as the Vice Chair of the Women in Law Section of the Akron Bar Association and is the former chairperson of the ABA's Probate Section and New Lawyer's Committee. NiCole is a past member of the board of the Humane Society of Greater Akron and has served as a volunteer guardian ad litem and participant in the Summit County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program, where she represented the interests of children who are the subject of parental neglect and dependency cases.
