Biography
Marguerite is a partner in Brouse’s Litigation and Health Care practice groups and concentrates her litigation practice in the areas of litigation management, eDiscovery, and information governance.
As national discovery counsel for a major manufacturer, Marguerite coordinates discovery nationally in products liability litigation. She is responsible for developing overall discovery strategies; attendance and participation in court conferences and discovery hearings; negotiation of protective orders and discovery compromises; drafting and review of discovery motions, affidavits, and discovery responses; protection of trade secret and privileged information; identification and preparation of corporate witnesses; review of all corporate testimony for confidentiality; and the collection, preservation, and production of responsive information. Marguerite has also assisted in the restructuring of a national network of defense counsel and worked with clients and other counsel on larger scale document collection and review projects.
Marguerite’s information governance experience involves helping companies in developing and auditing record retention and information governance policies and in the defensible disposition of information. She has assisted clients in a variety of litigation readiness endeavors, including identifying key people and information sources and establishing protocols and procedures for protecting a company’s trade secrets, both internally and during litigation.
In her role assisting health care clients, Marguerite provides strategic guidance and legal advice to help providers and business owners succeed in a rapidly changing health care environment. Marguerite advises clients on many overarching as well as day-to-day legal issues, including contracts, policies and procedures, patient-related issues, and regulatory and compliance concerns, including HIPPA and various state laws.
