Stacy RC Berliner, Jodi Spencer Johnson, and Gabrielle T. Kelly will present at the 2020 Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee CLE Seminar in Tucson, Arizona, March 4-7.

Stacy RC Berliner’s panel will discuss “Stress Management for Insurance Lawyers” and will provide techniques that help prevent and treat the ethical and substance abuse problems that are caused by high levels of stress. The panel will be moderated by Mark Siwik, Founding Partner of SandRun Risk. Stacy will be joined by panelists Atoyia S. Harris from Proskauer Rose LLP and Christina Nosari from Clyde & Co.

Jodi Spencer Johnson’s panel “Completed of Not? That is the Question” will attempt to provide clarity around what is a completed operations hazard when an insured is sued in a construction defect case and then tenders the defense to a subcontractor. This panel will discuss policy language and the insurance provisions in the construction contract signed by the insured. Ronald L Kammer of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP will moderate the panel. Jodi will be joined by panelists Carlos Diaz-Padron of Granada Insurance Company and Christopher Stuffle of St. Charles Insurance.

Gabrielle T. Kelly’s interactive panel “The Living Dead: An Insurer’s Obligations to a Defunct Insured (and the Insured’s Duty to Cooperate)” will go over who controls the litigation when the insured is in bankruptcy or has been dissolved as well as how defense counsel provides a defense to an insured who is uncooperative. Rodrigo (Diego) Garcia, Jr. of Thompson Coe Cousins & Irons LLP will moderate the panel. Gabe will be joined by panelist Nicole B. Weinstein of Beveridge & Diamond PC.
