Down with PVC? Implications to Construction Industry as EPA is Pushed to Consider PVC as Hazardous Waste

While interest rates rise and costs increase across the construction industry, an upcoming EPA decision on whether PVC is a hazardous waste under federal law may provide additional challenges. The Center for Biological Diversity filed a petition in 2014 requesting that the EPA regulate PVC under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. In this article, Tom Gattozzi and Camille Yancey review the potential impacts of the EPA’s tentative decision currently set for January 20, 2023, with a final decision set for April 2024.
