Christopher J. Carney Appointed Partner-in-Charge of Brouse McDowell's Cleveland Office

Brouse McDowell, a leading regional legal professional association, is excited to announce that Christopher J. Carney has been named the partner-in-charge of the firm’s Cleveland office.

“Chris is passionate about the practice of law and providing the highest caliber of legal services,” said Marc Merklin, Managing Partner at Brouse McDowell.  “He is committed to our Cleveland Office, as well as clients and employees in the Greater Cleveland area,” added Merklin.

Chris serves as the chair of Brouse’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. He represents private and public clients in civil rights litigation in both federal and state courts, such as employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims. In addition to his experience in employment litigation, Chris has expanded his practice to include business and product liability defense litigation, including class action defense of product liability matters. Chris represents a number of consumer product manufacturers in both state and federal courts throughout the U.S.

He is a graduate of John Carroll University (BA, 1983) and Case Western Reserve School of Law (JD, 1986). He is a member of the American, Ohio, Federal and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations and currently serves on the Board of Youth Challenge. Chris is an alumni board member for Case Western Reserve University School of Law and is AV® Preeminent Peer Review Rated through Martindale-Hubbell. He has been recognized by Ohio Super Lawyers® and Super Lawyer Corporate Counsel through a peer- and achievement-based review. Most recently Chris was featured in the Commercial Litigation section of The Best Lawyers In America® 2014.
