Over 25% of Ohio's Certified Insurance Coverage Law Specialists are Brouse McDowell Attorneys

2/14/14

Brouse McDowell, a leading regional legal professional association, is proud to announce that four of the firm’s attorneys have been certified as specialists in Insurance Coverage Law. Newly certified specialists from Brouse McDowell are Keven Drummond Eiber, Amanda M. Leffler, Caroline L. Marks, and Paul A. Rose.

Only 14 lawyers throughout Ohio have been certified as specialists in insurance coverage law, and four of those lawyers are at Brouse McDowell, giving the firm the largest contingent of such specialists of any firm in the state. Attorneys who devote a large part of their practice to a particular area may choose to earn specialty certification. To obtain this certification attorneys must, in addition to other requirements, demonstrate substantial and continuing involvement in their practice to that particular field of law; submit five references from other lawyers attesting to their competency in the specialty area; earn 36 hours of intermediate or advanced continuing legal education credits in the specialty area during the past three years, and pass a written examination in the specialty area. Those who have earned a specialty certification must be re-certified at least every four to seven years and must report annually to the certifying agency.

Brouse has been at the forefront of complex commercial insurance coverage claims issues for more than 25 years. The firm’s insurance coverage clients include both U.S. and foreign businesses in many industries and of all sizes, from closely held corporations to Fortune 100 Companies. Our lawyers also have taken the lead in critical amicus efforts in both federal and state courts to develop and protect the law for the benefit of policyholders.
