Brouse McDowell Managing Partner Marc B. Merklin Honored at Campus Gala

Brouse McDowell, LPA, a leading regional law firm, is proud to announce that managing partner, Marc. B. Merklin and his wife, Sharon, were honored at the Campus Gala, which took place on November 1, 2014 at the Shultz Campus for Jewish Life in Akron, for their longtime service and leadership in the Jewish community.

Merklin is nationally Board Certified in Business Bankruptcy Law and focuses his practice on general business counseling, commercial law and business reorganizations. He represents creditors, debtors, committees and trustees in Chapter 11 reorganizations, as well as borrowers in loan transactions and bankruptcy and commercial litigation. He also works on the sale and acquisition of financially distressed companies. 

Merklin was named Best Lawyers® 2015 Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law "Lawyer of the Year" in Akron and is included in The Best Lawyers® in America 2006-2015. He also was named to Ohio Super Lawyers™ Top 50 in 2013-2014, Ohio Super Lawyers™ Top 100 in 2010-2014 and Ohio Super Lawyers™ in 2008-2014. Additionally, Merklin maintains a Martindale Hubbell® rating of AV Preeminent™.

He received his Juris Doctorate and his Bachelor of Arts from Case Western Reserve University.

Merklin previously has served as President of the Jewish Community Board of Akron, President of the Shaw Jewish Community Center, President of the Akron Bar Association, and board chair for the Akron Community Foundation, Child Guidance & Family Solutions, the Summit County ADM Board and United Way of Summit County. 

Merklin and his wife, Sharon, reside in Fairlawn and have three children, Laura, Lisa and Brian.
