Brouse McDowell Names Newly Appointed Partners

Brouse McDowell, a leading regional business law firm, is pleased to congratulate Lucas M. Blower, Michael G. Craig, Michael G. VanBuren and Anastasia J. Wade as recently named Partners in the firm.

Lucas Blower practices in the area of complex litigation. He regularly represents policyholders in liability insurance recovery actions, and title insurance companies in disputes with financial institutions. In addition, he has experience resolving disputes between co-owners of closely owned corporations. He is a member of the Akron Bar Association and the Ohio Bar Association.  

Mike Craig is a registered patent attorney and member of the Intellectual Property Group. He has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting patents for large technology companies involving the computer science arts, as well as in life science devices and mechanical and electro-mechanical arts. Craig’s experience includes managing patent portfolios, patent and trademark litigation, evaluation, infringement and product clearance opinion work, and managing inventors and counseling clients on strategic planning. He is a member of the Brouse Oil and Gas Committee, the Akron Bar Association, American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association.  Craig works with several non-profit organizations, including the Ancient Order of Hibernians, serving on the Ohio State Board and as State Legal Counsel. He is the committee chair for Conservancy for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, as well as a board member of the West Creek Conservancy, Boy Scouts of America, Great Lakes Council, Operation Legal Help Ohio, and Medina Buckeye Youth Baseball.

Mike VanBuren practices in the area of health care law, representing non-profit hospitals, specialty hospitals, health systems, long-term care facilities, dialysis facilities, physician groups, and physicians in private practice in corporate, business, and regulatory matters including joint ventures, hospital-physician integration transactions, practice acquisitions, and physician employment agreements. He also counsels medical device manufacturers and durable medical equipment suppliers. A few of VanBuren’s professional and civic activities include serving as the chair of the Board of Trustees of the Summit County Community Partnership, secretary of the Alumni Association Board of Western Reserve Academy and as a member of the American Health Lawyers Association.

Anastasia Wade practices in the areas of intellectual property litigation, products liability litigation, general business litigation and appellate practice. She has worked on disputes involving internet advertising, software authorship, trademark and trade dress infringement, song ownership, patent infringement, class action certification, product fires, and false advertising. Wade is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Ohio Women’s Bar Association, and the Manos Inn of Court. Wade also serves as co-chair of the Patent and PTO Practice Committee of the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association, is a member of the Ohio Women’s Bar Foundation’s 2014-2015 Leadership Institute Class and is a member of Playhouse Partners.
