Biography
Drew serves as Partner-in-Charge of the Toledo office. He focuses his practice on insurance coverage, employment law and business litigation. He has litigated cases in state and federal court at both the trial and appellate levels. Drew has represented clients in a broad range of settings, including mediation, arbitration and in administrative hearings and investigations.
Drew’s insurance coverage experience includes both litigating complex insurance coverage disputes and providing general counsel for clients regarding their corporate insurance programs. He has actively participated in the negotiation and drafting of complex coverage in place agreements, and he has assisted clients in their implementation. According to clients in the 2022 edition of Chambers USA (Insurance: Ohio), Drew is "levelheaded, very responsive and easy to work with," while sources in the 2021 edition note that he “[h]as deep knowledge and experience in insurance coverage law and litigation, and remains calm in heated situations. He considers client input and is careful and thoughtful about his responses and observations.”
Drew has counseled a range of clients in employment-related issues. He has negotiated contracts for various professionals, including physicians and engineers; and advised employers with regard to corporate employment practices. Drew’s employment litigation experience encompasses a broad range of employment topics, including discrimination, wage and hour violations and enforcement of non-competition agreements. Drew has also represented employers with regard to complaints filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission and the Ohio Office of Unemployment Compensation.
In addition to the specific areas listed above, Drew has litigated a number of general business disputes. These include disputes over contracts, secured instruments and the defense of shareholder derivative suits.
Drew is certified as a Specialist in Insurance Coverage Law by the Ohio State Bar Association.
