Brouse McDowell Announces Election of Two New Executive Committee Members

Brouse McDowell, a leading business law firm based in Northern Ohio, is pleased to announce the election of Christopher J. Carney and Andrew W. Miller to the firm’s Executive Committee.

Christopher Carney, elected for his first term on the Executive Committee, is Partner-in-Charge of the Cleveland Office and Chair of the Labor & Employment Practice Group. He represents private and public clients in civil rights litigation in both federal and state courts and also advises on labor and employment compliance issues involving discrimination and harassment under federal and state law (Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA)); personnel matters (drug testing, privacy, appropriate discipline and termination procedures); restrictive covenant and trade secret issues; wage and hour and family leave compliance; and safety and health compliance. Chris is certified as a Labor & Employment Specialist by the Ohio State Bar Association. He is AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated through Martindale-Hubbell.

Andrew Miller, elected for his first term on the Executive Committee, is a Partner in the Insurance Recovery Practice Group and is based in the firm’s Toledo office. Drew focuses his practice on insurance coverage, employment law and business litigation. He has litigated cases in state and federal court at both the trial and appellate levels and has represented clients in a broad range of settings, including mediation, arbitration and in administrative hearings and investigations. His insurance coverage experience includes litigating complex insurance coverage disputes and providing general counsel for clients regarding their corporate insurance programs. He has actively participated in the negotiation and drafting of complex coverage in place agreements, and he has assisted clients in their implementation. His employment law experience includes negotiating contracts for various professionals, advising employers with regard to corporate employment practices, and advising clients in employment litigation matters. Drew is certified as an Insurance Coverage Law Specialist by the Ohio State Bar Association. He is recognized in Who’s Who in Toledo Area Law for Business Litigation (2018-2019).
