Chris Carney Addresses Upcoming Vaccination Mandate in the Akron Beacon Journal

September 11, 2021

Partner and Co-Chair of Brouse’s Labor & Employment Practice comments on the Biden Administration’s mandatory COVID-19 vaccination announcement in an Akron Beacon Journal article “Upcoming Vaccination Mandate has Akron-area Businesses Asking Questions.” This announcement left many unanswered questions for Akron-area businesses and their employees. Carney notes that he thinks there will be legal challenges. He says "I do think at some point the standard is going to go into effect, unless there is a successful legal challenge." Carney said “the only certainties now are that the mandate will affect businesses of 100 or more employees, and those businesses will have to provide paid time off for employees to get the shots and to recover from any aftereffects.”
