Commercial Transactions and Property Acquisition

Our environmental attorneys work closely with both the Corporate and Real Estate practice groups to carefully evaluate and manage potential environmental issues that may arise with the purchase or divesture of property.  When our clients are engaged in a business transaction, whether a merger, acquisition, divestiture or the simple sale or purchase of a facility, Brouse McDowell is adept at evaluating the environmental risk, communicating that risk and working to develop effective solutions to address the risk and enable the parties to the transaction to meet their goals.

We have developed effective working relationships with many environmental consultants and can provide clients access to a network of competent professionals.  Our group also has extensive experience in working with developers, property owners, lending institutions and planning and development agencies, allowing us to guide clients through the regulatory requirements associated with property ownership and transfer.  Our attorneys are experienced in helping clients successfully redevelop and recycle urban property through access to and implementation of state and local brownfields initiative programs, coupled with knowledge of alternative financial incentives.
