Biography

Nick is a commercial litigator who focuses his practice on representing policyholders in insurance coverage disputes, as well as representing businesses in contractual and consumer disputes in state, federal, and appellate courts. His experience includes handling insurance recovery claims against policies governed by ERISA, responding to complaints and investigative inquiries from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), defending against claims brought under the Ohio Consumer Sales Practice Act (OSCPA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), and Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). Nick also has experience handling environmental and healthcare matters, including defending hospitals against alleged violations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Nick is experienced in all phases of complex commercial litigation including drafting complaints and answers, managing written discovery, document review and production, taking and defending depositions (including corporate representative depositions), drafting dispositive motions and responsive briefs, participating in mediation, and conducting bench and jury trials. Nick also has experience handling matters in state and federal appellate courts.
