Partner Irving Sugerman Wins Karl S. Hay Community Service Award

Brouse McDowell is proud to announce Partner Irv Sugerman as the recipient of the 2022 Karl S. Hay Community Service Award. Irv has been an integral part of boards and committees across a variety of areas that impact our community. He currently serves as a member of the board for the Summit County Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board, the Conservancy for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and the Andrea Rose Teodosio Foundation. Irv also recently served as the Chairman of the Summit County Nonpartisan Redistricting Commission. He is also a past-president of Stewart’s Caring Place, the Jewish Community Board of Akron, and several other local non-profit and governmental agencies.

To this day Brouse strives day to honor longtime Brouse McDowell Partner Karl Hay’s legacy and to emulate his commitment to the community through the Karl S. Hay Community Service Award. This award was created by the firm in 2002 and recognizes a Brouse attorney, paralegal or staff member who exemplifies the unwavering commitment to our community by making a monetary donation to the recipient’s charity of choice. Organizations that have received past award donations include Akron Community Foundation, Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Domestic Violence Center, Hattie Larlham Foundation, Akron Road Runner Marathon, and Youth Challenge.
