Akron-Cleveland - 'Brouse McDowell is proud to announce that Daniel L. Bell, Richard H. Harris, III, Jeffrey T. Heintz, David M. Hunter, Marc B. Merklin, Paul A. Rose, Michael A. Sweeney (partners in the Akron office) and Christopher J. Carney, Keven D. Eiber and Craig A. Marvinney (partners in the Cleveland office), were selected as 2008 Ohio Super Lawyers®.

This is a tremendous honor as only approximately 5% of eligible Ohio attorneys are chosen after a rigorous achievement and peer-based review is conducted by Law & Politics Media, Inc.

Daniel L. Bell – uses his experience to assist business executives and managers with litigation and business issues, specifically those issues arising under federal and state employment laws including Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Dan received both his JD (1990, summa cum laude) and MA (1987) from The University of Akron School of Law and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas at Austin (1985).

Christopher J. Carney - represents private and public clients in all aspects of civil litigation, including employment and labor litigation; restrictive covenant and trade secret litigation; commercial litigation; contract and shareholder disputes and products defense liability in state and federal courts throughout Ohio, as well as in administrative tribunals. He is a graduate of Case Western University School of Law (1986) John Carroll University (1983).

Keven D. Eiber – focuses primarily in the area of insurance litigation – commercial insurance recovery for business clients, negotiating insurance recoveries and advising clients on insurance coverage issues regarding claims, policy acquisition and renewal. Keven regularly handles disputes involving complex environmental, asbestos, business interruption, catastrophic property loss, and D&O liability claims. Keven is a graduate of American University Washington College of Law (1983) and University of Illinois (1980).

Richard H. Harris – concentrates his practice in business succession planning, trust and estate administration, estate planning and charitable gift planning. Richard’s practice also includes Medicaid planning, representing fiduciaries in the probate administration of estates and trusts and is an experienced preparer of estate, gift tax and fiduciary income tax returns. Richard is also a member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He is a graduate of The University of Akron School of Law (1980) and graduate of Kenyon College (1977, cum laude).

Jeffrey T. Heintz - serves as managing partner of Brouse McDowell. Jeff's practice includes corporate counseling, commercial transactions and litigation, bankruptcy and creditors' rights, and real estate. Jeff represents clients in the manufacturing, construction and title service industries. In addition, he serves as counsel for public agencies such as the Akron-Summit County Public Library and the office of the Summit County Executive. Jeffrey is a graduate of The University of Akron School of Law (1975) and Ohio University (1972, summa cum laude).

David M. Hunter – David is recognized for his expertise in general business law and commercial law, advising clients in the area of corporate business planning, and a variety of parties in reorganization and insolvency proceedings under federal bankruptcy law. He has also orchestrated many successful commercial and residential real estate development projects. David is a graduate of New York University School of Law (LLM, 1976), The University of Akron School of Law (1975) and Princeton University (1972).

Craig A. Marvinney – brings first-chair trial practice experience in all aspects of jury and bench litigation, appellate practice and administrative hearings, mediations and arbitrations. His extensive complex litigation practice in
