Much of the attention surrounding Ohio’s oil and gas boom focuses on the environmental impacts of the industry, such as whether injection wells cause earthquakes. One topic which does not receive much scrutiny is the interpretation of oil and gas leases. However, the Ohio Supreme Court may soon issue a decision that will give the public reason to take note of those leases – perhaps even a few hundred million reasons.
