Brouse McDowell Names New Partners & Appoints New Practice Chairs

Brouse McDowell, a leading business law firm based in Northern Ohio, is pleased to announce that as of January 1, 2020, Alex Quay, Chris Teodosio and Teresa Santin were elected partners in the firm. Further, two partners were named as new practice leaders − Wes Lambert and Stacy Berliner as co-chairs of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group.

Quay, a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, counsels clients in matters involving business and commercial litigation, real estate transactions, construction, zoning, and disputes concerning ownership of oil, gas, and mineral rights, among others. He was selected as an Ohio Rising StarTM (2016-2020) by Super Lawyers®, a service of Thomson Reuters. Alex earned his JD from The University of Akron School of Law.

Teodosio is a member of the firm’s Insurance Recovery Practice Group. He regularly works to assist policyholders in navigating their insurance claims to maximize net recovery for clients. He is a frequent writer on insurance topics and regularly contributes to the firm’s insurance recovery blog and quarterly newsletter − Your Coverage Advisor. In 2017, he was awarded the Greater Akron Chamber’s 30 For the Future Award. Chris earned his JD, cum laude, from The University of Akron School of Law and his MBA from the University of Akron College of Business Administration.

Santin, a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, focuses primarily in the areas of construction and real estate litigation. She practices in both state and federal courts and has represented owners, developers, public entities, and contractors in disputes involving a multitude of issues. She was named an Ohio Rising StarTM (2017-2020) by Super Lawyers®, a service of Thomson Reuters. Santin earned her JD from Case Western Reserve University.

Berliner, named Co-chair of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, is a well-seasoned litigator who regularly represents corporate policyholders in obtaining recovery of insurance proceeds for their liabilities and losses relating to commercial liability policies, directors and officers liability policies, construction, property and business interruption policies, professional liability policies and employment practices policies. In addition, she works with clients on developing strategies to resolve complex employment, corporate, real estate, construction contract and business tort matters. She represents clients in both state and federal courts and also has represented clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and other forms of dispute. She was named to the Ohio Super Lawyers list (2016-2017, 2019-2020) by Super Lawyers®, a service of Thomson Reuters, and she was selected for inclusion in the Insurance Law section by The Best Lawyers in America© (2020). Stacy is a Certified Specialist in Insurance Coverage Law, as deemed by the Ohio State Bar Association.

Lambert, named Co-chair of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, has extensive experience in business litigation and counseling, as well as in insurance recovery matters. He has taken on an informal role as “outside general counsel” in the representation of businesses of all sizes and industries, working to aggressively protect his clients' interests through out-of-court negotiation and in litigation when needed. He is a frequent contributor to the firm’s insurance recovery blog and quarterly newsletter − Your Coverage Advisor. He has an AV® PreeminentTM Peer Review Rating through Martindale-Hubbell, and was named to the Ohio Super Lawyers list (2016-2020) by Super Lawyers®, a service of Thomson Reuters. Mr. Lambert volunteers his time by serving on the Board of the Akron Children's Museum and is the Chair of the Board's Governance Committee. Mr. Lambert is also a member of the Manos Inn of Court and is a frequent speaker on a variety of topics related to complex litigation matters.
